In the morning, take an hour-long boat ride across Mumbai Harbour to reach Elephanta Island surrounded by lush greenery. Explore some of the enormous intricately carved Elephanta Caves from the 8th century. Marvel at rows of massive columns cut into solid rock leading to an impressive three-headed sculpture representing Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Preserver), and Shiva (the Destroyer). Visit Mani Bhawan—a small museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi—and Crawford Market before winding up another memorable day in Mumbai.
In the morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cochin. Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted before driving to Thekkady/Periyar. Upon reaching Thekkady/Periyar, check-in at your hotel. Periyar is spread across 777 sq. kms. of the Cardamom Hills in the Western Ghats and is home to one of India’s largest wildlife reserves. It is a vibrant getaway nestled among hills, filled with exotic flora and diverse wildlife. Spend the night at a wildlife resort.
Start your day with an early morning boat cruise on the famous Periyar wildlife sanctuary lake to witness wildlife in their natural habitat. Periyar is an artificial lake created by a dam on the Periyar River and serves as the heart of the Wildlife Sanctuary. Animals like wild elephants, Asiatic Deer, Black Buck, and even Tigers can be seen coming to drink water at its shores.Return to your hotel for breakfast.After breakfast,enjoy a scenic drive through winding “Ghats” adorned with thriving tea plantations as you make your way towards Kumarakom.You will pass by captivating countryside featuring low-lying palm trees and paddy fields.Enroute,you can also visit tea estates.Kumarakom is a picturesque backwater village located on the banks of enchanting Vembanad Lake.Its waterways are crisscrossed with meandering canals along which ancient cottages are scattered.Relax by waterfronts where you may occasionally spot native row boats silently gliding by.The tranquil atmosphere allows you to almost touch th sky with your fingertips.Spend overnight at your hotel.

Cochin, also known as Kochi, is popularly referred to as “the Queen of the Arabian Sea.” It is the oldest European settlement in India and is surrounded by backwaters and filled with old-world charm that has attracted many great voyagers over time. Upon arrival in Cochin, check into your hotel for a tour of this fascinating city.
Visit attractions such as Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Church of St. Francis, Bolghatty Palace,and famous Chinese fishing nets.Explore these sites which are influenced by Arabic,Dutch,British,and Portuguese seafarers who traversed through Kochi.During afternoon,enjoy a harbour cruise.Cochin boasts one of India’s finest natural harbours.Experience a scenic cruise through backwaters that extend eastwards & southwards from Cochin’s harbour.These backwaters are interspersed with small islands formed naturally by alluvial deposits from rivers.In evening,witness a Kathakali dance performance accompanied by make-up demonstration.Kathakali dance has a history dating back 200 years.It showcases more than 100 different mudras or gestures depicting deities,demons,heroes heroines,and kings based on episodes from Indian myths Mahabharata and Ramayana.Enjoy dinner followed by overnight stay at hotel.
